Specialty Molding & Secondary Operations
Some customers require complex molded parts, but cannot justify complex and expensive mold tooling due to projected volume. In such instances,
it makes sense to build a simpler mold and add features to the production parts with secondary operations either with CNC machining or in assembly.
Such features might include side holes, tapped holes, D-holes for plugs or switches, O-ring grooves, milled threads, precision machined fits,
etc. Other variations of specialty molding might include TPE / TPV soft thermoplastic over molding, threaded insert molding, custom metal component
over molding, etc. Some of this is in preparation for using adhesives to join parts, often needed when a robust leak proof sub-assembly is
required by our customer.
